Call for Artists

Entry information and forms for the 2nd annual Skagit Valley Highland Games Art Show are now available on the Celtic Arts Foundation website:  www.celticarts.org  The link to the forms is on the main page near the top.  Deadline: Unknown

We are offering cash prizes and awards for artwork with a "Celtic" theme, in paint media, and this year are also pleased to be offering a photographic category as well.  There will be a showing of submitted pieces, as described in the attached flier.

Please circulate to anyone you may feel would be interested, and please have anyone with questions contact me directly.  Thank you.

Youthnet Art Show Benefit   Deadline: April 30th.
Youthnet is pleased to announce an evening of art, wine and jazz to on May 30th at our building in Mount Vernon (227 N 4th Street, top of the viaduct) and a month long preview sale/art walk at downtown Mount Vernon businesses. Youthnet’s programs include Foster Care, Independent Living Skills, Parent Support Program, and Emerson High School.  On average, six hundred children and their families benefit from Youthnet's services each year.

At the art show sale benefit event we would like to share equally (50/50) with you the proceeds from the sale of any artwork you submit (outright donations will be accepted too).

In cooperation with downtown Mount Vernon Businesses we will display works of art (number depends on location) for sale in local businesses for the month prior to the event to publicize the benefit and we would like to share equally (50/50) with you the proceeds from the sales of your artwork.

Display locations: SV Food Coop, Lincoln Theatre, The Porterhouse Pub, The Trumpeter Restaurant, River and Main Gifts, Skagit Business Services, Paccioni’s, Tri-dees, MV Bike Shop,, The Libation Station Wine Shop

Artists participating (so far): Joel Brock, Debbie Aldrich, Jeanne Hansen, Jane Lloyd, Jacques Moitoriet, Suzy Carr, Janet Foster, Jaqueline deGavia, …….

The art show/auction will feature the Oscar de la Rosa Trio, catering by Mark’s on Pine Square and Carpenter Creek wines!

Call for Public Art – Swift Bus Stations, Lynnwood, WA

Budget - $38,000  -  Deadline: June 30, 2008

The City of Lynnwood Arts Commission invites Washington State artists to apply for this project to create art for six bus stations. The budget of $38,000 includes design, fabrication and installation.

The swift bus is a program of Community Transit (CT) in Snohomish County. It will travel on Highway 99 between Everett and Shoreline. Swift bus will start running by the end of 2009. Six swift bus stations will be located in the City of Lynnwood.  Part of the ground area of each station will include art.
